Every ring is made to order in the size you choose, so the size matters more here than it does on a shelf. This page has two ways to measure at home and the full conversion table. If you land between two sizes, tell us and we will talk it through before we start cutting.

Measure a ring you already wear

This is the more reliable of the two methods. Take a ring that fits the finger you have in mind and measure the inside diameter across the widest point with a ruler that has millimetres on it. Match that number to the inside diameter column in the table below.

Measure the inside edge to inside edge, not the outside of the band. A 1 mm error at this step is roughly half a ring size.

Measure the finger

Cut a strip of paper about 5 mm wide, or use a length of string. Wrap it around the base of the finger, snug but not tight, mark where it overlaps, then lay it flat and measure to the mark in millimetres. That figure is the inside circumference — the second column in the table.

Do this at the end of the day when the hand is at its largest, and not straight after exercise or a cold walk. Fingers change size through the day by up to half a size.

Two things that change the answer

Wide bands run tight. Anything over about 4 mm wide takes up more of the finger. On a wide band go a quarter size up.
A large knuckle wins. The ring has to pass the knuckle, so measure there too and take the larger of the two readings. If the gap is more than a full size, write to us — that is a fit problem we can design around.

What we make

We cut US sizes 3 through 10 1/2 as standard, in quarter steps. That covers the great majority of hands. Outside that range is not a problem, it is just not on the dropdown — write to us with the size and we will quote it.

Resizing is free, and we cover the shipping in both directions. Write to us with your order number and the size you want instead. Most pieces can be resized; a few, like full eternity bands and some deco settings, are cleaner to remake — either way it costs you nothing.

Description

A serpent that meets its own tail, wrapped once around the finger on a 1.3 mm band. Fifteen small stones follow the spine and two more sit at the head. The ouroboros is one of the oldest things people have put on a ring, and it has meant the same thing for four thousand years: nothing ends. Cubic zirconia as standard. Made to order in solid 10K, 14K, or 18K gold.

These are real measurements. Product photos are enlarged to show detail.

The centre stone is AAA Cubic Zirconia (Colourless). It is cut in solid Gold (10K, 14K, 18K), in yellow, white or rose, hallmarked inside the band and never plated. The finished piece weighs about 1.8 grams in 14K; 10K runs a little lighter and 18K a little heavier. You will also find it in Cubic Zirconia Rings and April Birthstone Rings.

Every piece carries a 1-year warranty covering manufacturing defects — a loose stone, a broken prong, an open solder joint. It does not cover normal wear, accidental damage, or loss.

How many stones are set in this ring?

Seventeen in total: fifteen 0.8 mm rounds follow the spine and two 0.9 mm rounds sit at the head. AAA grade cubic zirconia as standard.

What gold do you use?

Solid 10K, 14K or 18K in yellow, white or rose gold, never plated or filled, with a genuine hallmark.

Can the stones be set in a colour?

Yes. The pave can be set in black, red, green, blue or any birthstone colour. Tell us which you want before ordering.

Is the pave secure for daily wear?

The stones sit flush in a band 1.6 mm thick rather than raised above it, which protects them. Avoid heavy impact and harsh chemicals.
